Sway go top of the League
Netley Central Sports 2 Sway 7
Hampshire Premier League Division 1
Saturday 14th January 2017
With rivals Upham and Four Marks not playing, Sway moved to the the top of the league following what eventually became an easy victory after a difficult first hour.
The Reds went ahead when Ryan Brading fired home as the ball broke loose following his brother Mark's cross from the right. Netley then struck back as Sway's midfield seemed to evaporate leaving the home side's striker free, and keeper Matt Langdown no chance. Our lead was restored just before the break when Ash Booker latched onto the loose ball after Mark Brading's shot was saved.
Following the half-time talk, Sway came out with renewed purpose, especially after the introduction of Jake Bockhart. He nearly caught out the keeper with a long range lob, before finding Ryan Brading from a corner, who scored our third. Shortly afterwards, Netley were back in the game with a headed corner before Bockhart was again the provider, this time finding Darren Ritchie at the far post to tap in. Bockhart then put the game beyond Netley with a superb 30-yard free-kick.
Also coming off the bench, David Steadman had a part in two more goals. His cross from the right was met by Mark who knocked it down for Ritchie to tap in his second. He again found Mark Brading from a short corner who rammed home our seventh and final goal.
Sway: Matt Langdown, Ash Booker, Mark Brading, Ryan Brading, Dan Brennan, John Huggins, Will Lambert, Ben McQuoid, Joe Petty, Darren Ritchie, Jordan Scares. Subs: Jake Bockhart, Spencer Churchill, David Steadman.
