Battling Michelmersh hold Sway
Michelmersh & Timsbury 0 Sway 0
Hampshire Premier League Division 1
Saturday 26th November 2016
Expectations were high with the new management team of Matt Dunford, Stuart Dolan and Ben Johnson taking the reigns for their first game in charge. Ryan O'Reilly stepped up to wear the keeper's jersey, following a late withdrawal from regular No. 1, Matt Langdown, but had very little to do all afternoon.
The first half hour was pretty even with both sides struggling to create decent chances. Sway eventually got into their stride and finished the half strongly. Ryan Brading turned the home side's defender to create a good opening for himself but his shot went tamely wide. Soon afterward Rogers got in behind M&T's defence and fired in a low cross which was eventually scrambled away.
The second half saw Sway pressing from the start and on 55 minutes Michelmarsh were reduced to ten men when their number 8 was shown a straight red following a wild challenge on Darren Ritchie. For the remainder of the half, Sway were camped in the Michelmersh half but were unable to break down the home side's defensive wall. Our best chance came from an Ash Booker free-kick which struck the base of the post.
Sway: O'Reily, Huggins, Brennan, Petty, Churchill, Bockhart, Ritchie, Booker, M.Brading, Rogers, R.Brading. Subs: McQuoid, Lambert
