Opening home game ends in defeat
Sway 0 Four Marks 2
Hampshire Premier League Division 1
27th August 2016
Early goals in each half gave Full Marks full points from our opening home game.
The visitors had most of the play early on, forcing a number of save from Matt Langdown including one that was tipped on to the bar. But he couldn't keep out a close range header that put Full Marks ahead after just ten minutes.
The Reds then rallied and began to create their own chances, several falling to Jack Frankcom who couldn't find the composure to finish them off, leaving the score at 0-1 at half time.
Sway went further behind soon after the restart. The ball was whipped into the box and despite a good save from Langdown, the visitors were able to recycle the ball back in and their striker fired in from close range.
Sway responded with some attacking play, Darren Ritchie and Ryan O’Reilly combining well in mid-field to create openings for our strikers. Full Marks continued to threaten but found increasing resistance from the Sway defence with Dan Brennan putting in an assured performance.
