Sway lose final home game
Sway 0 Lyndhurst 1
Hampshire First Division
9th April 2016
Sway's final home game ended in defeat to a Lyndhurst side were more effective and committed to winning the game. Sway started well, causing problems for the visitors with a header cleared off the line. Dan Marks looked to have scored but his headed goal was ruled offside. Sway then began to concede possession to the visitors who went ahead when a long ball sliced open our defence putting their striker through to beat our keeper. Lyndhurst continued to press and were unlucky not to be given a penalty.
Sway went further behind early in the second half from a penalty after a player was brought down in the box. The penalty was saved brilliantly but a Lyndhurst player was first to the ball to make it 2-0. The Reds tried hard to get back into the game but were restricted to long shots by a resolute defence.
Despite the defeat, it was an entertaining day for Sway supporters who were treated to performances from the Resolution Cheerleading Academy before the game and at half time.
