Sway on the up with first away win
Hampshire Premier League Division 1
Upham 0 Sway 3
Saturday 24th October
Sway travelled to Upham, near Bishops Waltham, looking for their first away win and were rewarded with a convincing win.
Sway began brightly, attacking down hill on the sloping pitch and creating many excellent chances before Dan Marks scored the opening goal after 25 minutes. Sway continued to create further chances but were unable to convert them and went off one nil up at the interval.
The second half began with Upham attacking strongly down the slope but the Sway defence were resolute and limited any chances to long-range efforts.
As the match progressed Sway began to create opportunities and went further ahead from Dan Whithorn's 30-yard free kick. This seemed to deflate the home side and Sway capitalised by scoring a third, through Kev Brennan, putting the game out of reach of the home side.
An excellent result thanks to a wholehearted team performance that cements Sway's position in the top half of the table following three straight wins.
